While adding Gmail account on your smartphone, Google sync all your photos with Picasa. Hence, every time you open the gallery, the photos from Picasa would be visible. And if you have zillion pictures on Picasa and you are annoyed by the fact that every image that you post on Google+ ends up on Picasa, we have certain tricks for you so that you can get rid of Picasa photos permanently.
Step 1: Stop Picasa Web Album Sync
The first obvious step that you need to do is “Stop Picasa Web Album Sync”.
- Go to “Settings” on your mobile phone.
- Click on the Google account.
- Select your email address.
- Deselect the “Sync Picasa Web albums” option.
This will stop photos from syncing to your device and appearing in your Gallery.
Step 2: Clear Gallery Data
Now you have to remove the albums that have already been synchronized and are already there. So, clear the Gallery data.
- Go to Settings
- Click on “Applications Manager” and move to the “All” tab.
- Move down to Gallery and click it.
- Click on “Clear data”.
Step 3: Refresh the “Gallery”.
You are almost done. Just follow these simple steps:
- Open the Gallery.
- Wait for it to refresh
- Rebuild the thumbnails.
If you have fewer photos stored on your device, this will not take much time, but you will need to wait a bit longer if you have a gigantic collection of photos.
Keep your Gallery tidy
It’s quite an easy thing to delete Picasa photos permanently and the benefits are numerous especially if your Gallery is filled with Picasa photos and albums that make it harder for you to find the photos that you want to be on your phone.
